The Embedded Firmware Engineer will be required to support product development via embedded firmware architecture design, development, integration, HW/SW bring up, troubleshooting and tuning the performance in the lab and field. You will be involved in all phases of the project and work with several engineers, contractors, vendors and cross functional partners to lead platform design and resource dimensioning, protocols and algorithms prototyping, and final development of production quality firmware for advanced communication systems. As an engineer, you will be required to train and mentor others in the firmware and hardware operation, troubleshooting, and performance optimizations.
Implement 3GPP channels and procedures such as PDCCH, PDSCH, PBCH, PUCCH, PUSCH, PRACH, UL/DL HARQ, and tracking loops
Work with silicon designers to define HW-SW partitioning, processors, bus, DMA, accelerator, and memory subsystems
Specify, design, and implement the firmware architecture of a state-of-the-art wireless communications system
Assist in the development of pre-silicon FW design and HW verification
4+ years of work experience in 4G wireless technology, protocols and networking
Experience with hardware control for physical layer 4G data path processing
Experience in implementation of control/data path processing algorithms with timelines, latency and energy budgets by interfacing with specialized ASIC hardware
Expertise with programming on memory constrained Embedded Systems. Familiarity with UARTs, JTAG, and oscilloscopes
Practical experience with developing firmware for different microprocessors and development tool chains, including embedded systems, OS and device drivers such as Bluetooth, RS-232 UART, SPI, I2C and OS coding
Hands-on problem solver and experience proposing processes, methodologies, and procedures to continuously improve quality
Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering
Exposure to 5G wireless technology is preferred
Experience with FlexRAN SW stack is beneficial
Proven track record in mass production of SOCs with L1SW implementation on Vector DSP platforms with tightly coupled HW accelerators and inline intrinsics
Deep understanding of software engineering principles, and core computer science fundamentals. Fundamental experience with C and C++, compilers, build and source code control tools
