Summary:

Facebook seeks a highly motivated, team player to serve as Associate General Counsel, Safety & Security. The position will report to the Director & Associate General Counsel, Safety. Required Skills:

  1. Serve as the company’s subject matter expert on legal obligations related to online safety including, but not limited to, child safety and human trafficking

  2. Develop and implement global policies relating to safety and security

  3. Support legal and Public Policy teams’ engagement with regulators and legislators on safety issues, with a European/UK focus

  4. Collaborate with members of Public Policy, Legal, Community Operations, Product, Engineering and others on safety and security matters

  5. Litigate issues related to the disclosure of user information

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. JD degree (or equivalent) and qualified lawyer with membership in at least one US state bar or international equivalent

  2. 10+ years of legal experience, including government, in-house and/or law firm experience advising technology companies

  3. Litigation experience

  4. Experience with the Stored Communications Act, 18 USC §2258A, SESTA-FOSTA, and analogous international laws

  5. Direct experience working with foreign and U.S. law enforcement authorities, Safety NGOs such as NCMEC, ICMEC, IWF, THORN and industry trade associations
