We are looking for an experienced and senior Marketing Manager within the Facebook Connectivity (FBC) Marketing team. Facebook Connectivity team’s mission is to bring more people online to a faster internet. FBC includes products like Free Facebook, Free Basics, Express Wi-Fi and others to help connect consumers and bring them online in emerging markets around the world. We partner with telecom operators and mobile device manufacturers to promote FBC products, drive growth initiatives, and educate & acquire new users. The candidate will develop and maintain strategic marketing relationships with Partners in the EMEA region with focus on emerging markets across Africa, Middle East and the EU. You will have deep knowledge of developing joint marketing plans, integrated marketing concepts, GTM planning and executing co-brand marketing campaigns. You’ll need to combine strategic thinking, creativity, and a bias for action to execute high-impact co-branded programs.

Required Skills:

  1. Work with partners (large mobile operators, mobile device manufacturers, others) to provide marketing thought jointly driving growth and product adoption through FBC products

  2. Develop long-term relationships and credibility with partner’s marketing team to build joint marketing strategy, co-branded programs and initiatives.

  3. Provide direct support to the Partnerships teams for market specific, co-marketing programs and other marketing initiatives that impact growth and acquisition in the market.

  4. Coordinate efforts with cross-functional teams including partnerships, product, communications, policy, brand, legal and internal/external agencies to deliver on agreed objectives.

  5. Effectively manage complex projects and priorities across multiple program management, engineering, product and marketing organizations.

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. 5+ years of experience in a strategic marketing role with experience in data-driven integrated marketing, digital marketing, partner marketing

  2. Experience in working across different markets and teams to develop and execute joint marketing plans and driving positive results with partners

  3. Comfortable dealing/ working with C-level executives, senior management teams and representing Facebook Marketing credibly with executive presence.

  4. Experience in cross-functional project management, leadership, influencing peers across the organization, and multi-tasking

  5. Ability to travel both regionally and internationally across emerging markets in Africa, Middle East as needed

  6. Ability to mitigate risk in developing countries and work with stakeholders to ensure Facebook is showing up responsibly in new markets

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Master’s degree or equivalent preferred

  2. Experience in managing regional remit for EMEA and working with partners in emerging markets like Africa, Middle East

  3. Previous technology/ telecom experience

  4. Comfortable with a fast-paced, always-on, start-up environment

  5. Test & iterate mindset with strengths in both creative and quantitative thinking

  6. Comfortable in dealing with ambiguity and ability to shift priorities quickly, while maintaining a high degree of organization and control

  7. Interest in a global role with frequent meetings outside of business hours – usually early mornings or evenings, 2 to 3 times a week

  8. Strong creative sense, plus good written and verbal communication skills in English (regional language knowledge is a plus)
