Summary:

META seeks a highly motivated data protection and privacy policy professional to fill the role of Privacy policy manager for the META family of companies (Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, Oculus).The ideal candidate will have an excellent track record in privacy and data protection policy issues, and be comfortable working on product advising. Candidates should have relevant prior experience working for policymakers or privacy regulators, and have a strategic vision. Candidates also should be excellent public speakers.This is a great opportunity to work on novel public policy issues in an exciting environment.This position can be based in our London office.

Required Skills:

Product Privacy Policy Manager, Global Responsibilities:

  1. Coordinate Meta’s policy activities related to major product launches

  2. Represent Meta at meetings and conferences

  3. Build and share product advice based on privacy policy expectations in the EU and other regions

  4. Manage engagement with Privacy Policy, DPO and Legal teams on all product issues

  5. Identify, monitor and develop the appropriate strategies regarding privacy policy trends of importance for the company

  6. Liaising with cross-functional teams as appropriate

  7. Identify strategic risks

  8. Determine privacy policy positions and advise on the privacy policy implications of new strategic topics

Minimum Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. A Significant 8 + years of experience in privacy and technology policy issues with previous experience in working for a data protection regulator or other public bodies tasked with the enforcement of privacy rules

  2. Demonstrated ability to find pragmatic and creative solution to business issues and provide concise and business-focused advice

  3. Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment and to make sound judgments under tight deadlines

  4. Strong knowledge of and interest in emerging technologies and devices and of Meta products

  5. Strong and current knowledge of data protection and privacy legislative and policy issues

  6. High degree of flexibility

  7. Willingness to travel and to work on a wide variety of legal and policy questions

Preferred Qualifications:

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Law Degree preferred but not required

  2. Privacy certification (e.g. CIPP or CIPM or similar) preferred but not required

  3. Native proficiency or fluency in English

  4. Fluency in other languages is a plus

  5. Candidates need to include any links to articles/videos/media interviews which demonstrate their track record in this field.

  6. Experience on Artificial Intelligence governance and policy is a plus
