Summary:

The Facebook Portal Team is building products that make it easier for people to connect with the ones they love most. We are a team of world-class experts developing and shipping products at the intersection of hardware, software and content. We have a clear mandate to ship products at scale. In particular, seemingly impossible products that define new categories and that advance Facebook's mission of connecting the world.Our team builds Portal App - a companion app for Portal devices. We make the Portal experience smooth, allowing users to setup and customize their Portals. Working closely with Portal and Facebook App teams, we have a standalone product and use the modern tech stack: React Native, Android API 21+, iOS SDK with Swift. Additionally, our app is interacting with Portal hardware, leveraging secure network protocols, BLE and Wi-Fi.A successful candidate in this role is self-driven, passionate and doesn’t mind delving into different areas of the stack. The person should be willing to take initiative and execute consistently in an agile, fast-paced environment. Experience partnering cross-functionally is key given that we work with many internal and external engineering teams, partners, designers, architects, product and program managers.

Required Skills:

  1. Work closely with our product, design and partner teams to build new infrastructure for the Portal companion app using Objective C, Swift and React Native.

  2. Implement native modules and UI components for iOS to enable new features and use cases for supporting and enhancing the Portal experience.

  3. Build infrastructure pieces and developer tooling that improve developer efficiency when working on the app.

  4. Analyze and optimize User Interface and Backend Application code for efficiency, performance and app reliability by creating dashboards and defining metrics to monitor app health.

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. 3+ years of experience developing iOS applications.

  2. 3+ years coding experience in Objective C or Swift.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science.

  2. Experience with React Native.

  3. 1+ years of JavaScript experience.

  4. Experience building custom user interfaces using a combination of React Native (JavaScript) and native iOS (Objective-C, Swift).
