Meta AI Research Scientist - Vision, Language and AI - FAIR in Menlo Park, California

Summary:

Meta is seeking Research Scientists to join its Fundamental AI Research (FAIR) organization, an organization focused on making significant advances in AI. We are seeking talented researchers with experience in vision-language models and general AI to join the team to investigate how to build contextually aware AI that will be the foundation for a new paradigm in how we interact and use computers. The chosen candidate will work with a diverse and highly interdisciplinary team of scientists, engineers, and cross-functional partners and access cutting-edge technology, resources, and research facilities.

Required Skills:

AI Research Scientist - Vision, Language and AI - FAIR Responsibilities:

  1. Develop algorithms based on state-of-the-art machine learning and neural network methodologies.

  2. Define, build and benchmark new capabilities needed for the next generation of AI.

  3. Conduct research towards long-term ambitious research goals while identifying intermediate milestones.

  4. Conduct research to advance the science and technology of intelligent machines.

  5. Conduct research that enables learning the semantics of data across multiple modalities (images, video, text, audio, speech and other modalities).

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience.

  2. PhD in computer vision, language, and/or machine learning or related areas.

  3. 2+ years of industry, academic, or government lab experience in computer vision, language and/or machine learning

  4. Experience solving complex problems and comparing alternative solutions, tradeoffs, and diverse points of view to determine a path forward.

  5. Experience communicating research for public audiences of peers.

  6. Must obtain work authorization in the country of employment at the time of hire, and maintain ongoing work authorization during employment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. First-authored publications at peer-reviewed conferences (e.g. CVPR. ECCV, ICCV, NeurIPS, and SIGGRAPH).

  2. 4+ year(s) of work experience in an industry, university, or government lab

Public Compensation:

$143,000/year to $208,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
