We are seeking an Analog Display Driver Architect to support the development of the driver and control circuitry for a new display technology for our AR/VR systems. The successful candidate will be part of our efforts to architect, design and implement the display drivers and will be part of a team that includes display scientists, silicon SoC architects and optical experts. The ideal candidate will understand the full display stack including light generation, driver electronics, active matrix architectures and graphics/video pipelines.
This is a full-time position based in Menlo Park, CA or Redmond, WA.
Lead the architecture development of the driver IC and pixel circuit for new display technology
Work with display researchers to integrate the new driver methodologies and architectures
Work and drive vendors on the implementation of these novel driver IC/CMOS backplane including execution, validation, characterization and reliability
Collaborate with system and graphics architects developing top quality front of screen pixel pipelines
Document the architecture and design requirements
Analyze design tradeoffs including manufacturability, testability and cost
Use your creative thinking and design skills to architect and implement analog IP to prototype and eventually to mass production
Ability to travel both domestically and internationally up to 20% of the time
10+ years of experience as an Analog Architect/Design Engineer
Experience in the driver architectures for LCD, OLED or similar micro-displays
Experience in factors and parameters affecting front of screen performance, uniformity, mura, response time, blur etc.
Experience in signal integrity, coupling, power supply noise rejection
Experience in evaluating design tradeoffs such as speed, performance, power, area and silicon process parameters
Experienced user of Cadence IC design tools and high speed simulation tools like: SPICE, Hyperlynx, or similar
Design experience in using high speed digital and analog circuits
M.S. or Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering or similar
Good working knowledge with lab instruments such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, power supplies, function generators
Knowledge in graphics pipeline architectures
