The AR/VR team at Facebook is helping people come together and connect through world-class Augmented, Mixed and Virtual Reality. It focusses on AR/VR research, computer vision, haptics, social interaction, and more; committed to drive the state of the art forward through relentless innovation in hardware and software. AR/VR's potential to change the world is immense—and we’re just getting started.
Our People AI team explores, develops, and delivers new cutting-edge people technologies that serve as the foundation of current and future AR/VR products. Our team has shipped many features ranging from Augmented Reality masks, Try-on Ads for Facebook's mobile applications, Story time on Portal and Lipsync on Oculus Avatars/SDK to name a few. People AI is focused on taking new technologies from an early concept to the product level while iterating, prototyping, and realizing the human value and new experiences which they open up.
We are seeking a computer vision specialist to join our People AI Team in Menlo Park. We are looking for someone who is excited to ship real products to our billions of Facebook users. The ideal candidate will have practical experience in real-time computer vision systems, and enjoy working with a team of engineers, product designers, researchers, and artists.
Develop, plan and execute cutting-edge research to advance people AI technologies from proof of concept to production
Design, develop and implement new novel tracking algorithms across all AR/VR products
Design core components up and down the software stack, developing primarily in C++ on different platforms
Conduct simulations, develop tools, scripts and tests, and document the work
Masters or PhD in Computer Science or in a related technical field
Experience in developing software in C++, including algorithm design and systems software development
Experience with Machine Learning in Computer Vision, 3D computer graphics or 3D vision - specifically real-time tracking (e.g. of objects, hands, bodies, faces) or 3D reconstruction
Experience in mobile and/or headset development, computer vision, and graphics
Ability to apply the latest techniques in computer vision, computer graphics, machine learning or physically-based modeling to people technologies
Experience researching, developing and prototyping hardware and software technologies
End-to-end product development experience
