Facebook seeks an experienced, highly motivated attorney to serve as an Associate General Counsel on the Augmented and Virtual Reality (AR/VR) sales legal team supporting Oculus Quest line of products, Portal and other Facebook AR/VR technologies. In this role, you will support the sales team responsible for Oculus for Business and other Enterprise sales; work to ensure compliance with a variety of safety, certification, and language requirements across multiple jurisdictions; and provide legal guidance to a range of markets and customers. The ideal candidate will provide front line legal support as a self-starter with strong communication, drafting and negotiation skills working collaboratively with legal colleagues and business partners across the organization.
Coordinate with legal, public policy and sales colleagues on multi-disciplinary issues
Advise on sales activities, retail relationships, distributor arrangements, enterprise contracts, public contracting requirements, go-to-market plans and campaigns, partner and co-marketing programs, product launch readiness, and online sales
Understanding of antitrust laws as well as strong collaboration with global legal colleagues in the U.S. and other countries
Ability to travel to Menlo Park, CA as needed
J.D. degree (or foreign equivalent) and membership in at least one US state bar
8+ years of experience working with internal engineering, product design, security, or sales teams throughout the product development life cycle advising on regulatory requirements, and how to communicate or mitigate risks for new technologies
Extensive understanding and experience counseling business partners on domestic and international sales issues, regulations, and best practices
Experience with enterprise agreements, drafting, negotiations, and support
Experience drafting and/or revising internal and external-facing sales contracts and program documents
Experience creating and providing relevant training and ongoing awareness to legal team colleagues and internal clients
Strategic thinker with proven legal and business judgment
Experience translating legal advice into actionable guidance for innovative product and business teams
Experience in organizing, prioritizing, and managing projects effectively
Sound and practical business judgment, intellectual creativity, and problem-solving skills
Government and/or public sector contracting experience
Experience with hardware distribution sales, warranty support, and services agreements
Experience working with independent software vendors
Data privacy and security experience as well as Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) experience
