Facebook seeks a highly motivated team player to serve as Strategic Response Counsel. This position will play a key role in supporting Facebook’s Strategic Response Program team during response initiatives. The Strategic Response Counsel will also serve as dedicated legal support to communications projects. This full-time position will be located in our Menlo Park office. This is a great opportunity to join a new and growing legal team and to work on novel issues in an exciting, fast-paced environment.

Required Skills:

  1. Advise on strategic response to legal and regulatory compliance matters across the company

  2. Provide coordinated and rapid-response legal support to emerging or critical communications

  3. Participate in after-action review and analysis, and develop remediation and mitigation measures

  4. Actively collaborate with cross-functional teams, such as Facebook’s Strategic Response Program team, Public Policy, Communications, Product Teams, Human Resources, and Finance, to respond to fast-moving inquiries requiring legal support

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. JD degree and membership in at least one U.S. state bar

  2. 10+ years of attorney experience, including in-house or law firm experience providing strategic advice and in communications

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Experience in litigation communications, crisis preparation and response, or issue management
