Facebook Business Planning and Operations Manager, Marketing Science in Menlo Park, California

The BP&O Manager will manage a team of four sales ops team members while working cross-functionally with several groups at Facebook (including sales, finance, business operations, and business intelligence). The objective of this role and the team is to provide support across the various parts of the Marketing Science Org and deliver against three core functions: 1) Core operations (e.g. planning, metrics, and rhythm of business 2) Strategic initiatives to improve efficiency 3) Organizational enablement through reporting, tools, and process improvements. Sample projects include sizing a new business opportunity, driving organizational design and landing implementation, and iterating KPIs for the Marketing Science organization.

The ideal leader is familiar with the digital advertising industry and has a proven record of driving strategic business decisions by using clear frameworks, deploying excellent communication tactics, and producing deep analyses as the foundation upon which recommendations are built. Additionally, this leader must be passionate about Facebook and be an inspiring leader/manager who can quickly build relationships with people across the organization

This is a full-time position and is located in our Menlo Park office.

Required Skills:

  1. Strategic Planning:

  2. Support sales teams on medium/long-term planning including business potential, resourcing and org design

  3. Identify, scope and drive critical projects and initiatives for Global Sales teams, partnering with cross-functional teams across the organization

  4. Project manage improvements to Sales team processes to drive higher efficiencies using a data-driven approach

  5. Lead analysis on business performance to drive operational changes. Familiarity with basic statistical analysis and modeling required to help assess marketing science effectiveness

  6. Drive operational reviews and rhythm of the business, leading business analysis including revenue, customer and market analysis

  7. Management:

  8. Build and manage a high performing business planning and operations team

  9. Partner with stakeholders on key business and operational activities

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. BA/BS

  2. 12+ years of work experience in Management Strategy Consulting or Sales Planning & Operations, or 8+ years experience with MBA/Master's degree

  3. Demonstrated problem solving experience with experience providing business insights and recommendations from data sets

  4. Demonstrated experience explaining concepts to audiences

  5. Excel experience

  6. Experience influencing individuals at the C-Suite or Executive level and driving strategic business decisions

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. MBA or graduate degree in an analytical field

  2. Experience with online advertising

  3. Experience managing teams or cross-functional project groups

  4. Experience working with or in support of many different business units

  5. Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and drive initiatives in a cross-functional environment

  6. Experience working with or in support of diverse communities
