Facebook CAPEX Sourcing Manager in Menlo Park, California

Facebook is currently seeking a CAPEX Sourcing Manager that will be responsible for the business relationship with our partners for both off-the-shelf and customized manufacturing and testing equipment to enable our future products and technologies. In this role, you will lead the cross-functional effort to identify, engage and enable the best partner. You will be responsible for developing the strategic relationship with our partners, including negotiating commercial agreements, negotiating cost, optimizing the collaboration between the teams and developing long term strategy to grow a robust partnership. You will work closely with Hardware engineering, Operations, DFx, Testing Engineering, Finance, Legal and other cross-functional teams to create an efficient and innovative partnership.

Required Skills:

  1. Identify and engage the equipment partners to enable the cutting-edge technologies and products with best-in-class quality, delivery and cost. This includes both customized and off-the-shelf equipment and fixtures.

  2. Own and grow a meaningful relationship with our partners to influence their strategy to ensure best support to our new product and new technology development.

  3. Develop deep understanding in the automation and advanced testing equipment industry.

  4. Develop partner selection strategy with cross-functional stakeholders, including RFQ/RFP, sourcing strategy and drive final supplier selection.

  5. Negotiate commercial agreements to meet both technical, operational and commercial requirements, including after-sales services.

  6. Negotiate NRE and unit cost to ensure best in class cost for our products. Actively look for cost optimization opportunities and lead cross-functional effort to achieve it.

  7. Review historical spending data to identify saving opportunities for the future products and develop budget.

  8. Enable the cross-functional team to collaborate with their counterparts on the partner side to ensure open, efficient and professional relationship.

  9. Manage escalations from the teams and address the concerns with the partner to drive short term and long term improvement actions

  10. Drive with our partner to grow their capabilities to meet our future needs through different avenues, including formal QBR and informal conversations.

  11. Lead regular QBR and executive business review and drive supplier performance improvement.

  12. Develop relationships with the key stakeholders to identify opportunities to leverage our partner’s capability to grow our business.

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. BS degree

  2. 7+ years work experience in sourcing or related disciplines specific to CAPEX equipment and fixture sourcing management

  3. Experience in supplier evaluation/selection, should cost models, contract negotiation and supply base management

  4. Experience in leadership, program management, and cross-functional teamwork experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Master degree in a related engineering discipline or MBA

  2. 10+ years of sourcing experience with 7+ years experience managing suppliers for automation and testing equipment

  3. Ability to navigate ambiguity in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple work threads to maximize impact

  4. Experience communicating with and influencing all levels of management

  5. Passion and experience in building innovative, best-in-class consumer electronic products
