Facebook Director, Operations Audit in Menlo Park, California

Facebook’s Internal Audit (IA) team is looking for a Director of the Operations vertical to lead a significant project portfolio through building and owning relationships with critical business partners, providing project oversight, and managing and developing a team of IA professionals. We are looking for a highly qualified leader with deep expertise in operational, process and compliance audit who will manage a project portfolio which requires close partnership with the Sales, Partnerships, Global Operations, HR, Legal and Privacy teams. The candidate must be a master relationship builder and be comfortable and highly effective in an ambiguous, rapidly changing environment.

Required Skills:

  1. Set governance, strategy, and project management expectations across the Operations vertical project portfolio

  2. Build strong relationships with key business partners across Facebook, including Sales, Partnerships, Global Operations, HR, Legal and Privacy, to thoroughly understand their business and identify appropriate risk mitigations and opportunities to add value

  3. Drive risk assessment and dynamic audit planning and participate in enterprise risk assessment and audit planning processes

  4. Manage and develop a team of audit professionals to execute audits and projects, providing direction and ongoing coaching and development

  5. Report to the Vice President of Internal Audit, Executive Leadership, and the Audit Committee on risks, portfolio of audits, and outcomes

  6. Bring thought leadership, leading practice frameworks, audit process improvements, and contribute to the continuous improvement of the department

  7. Collaborate with other Internal Audit leaders to execute IA’s strategy and coordinate cross-vertical audit projects and initiatives

  8. Effectively manage relationship with the internal audit co-sourcing partner(s) to ensure that we execute as one team

  9. Coordinate with other risk management functions (e.g., Privacy and Regulatory Compliance) to minimize duplication of effort and maximize execution

  10. Create credibility to be viewed and respected as the communication leader for internal audit and broader Finance organizations

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration or related field

  2. 12+ years of experience with Big Four or internal audit

  3. Functional or auditing experience in one or more of the following: corporate compliance, legal, or privacy

  4. Experience working with business partners and third party providers

  5. Organizational, multi-tasking, and prioritization experience

  6. Subject matter knowledge in operations, process, financial, and compliance risks

  7. People developer - Commitment and track record for developing and coaching people

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Professional auditing certifications, such as the CIA, CPA, CISA or CFSA

  2. Understanding of Facebook products and operations

  3. Experience auditing customer service departments and/or digital advertising

  4. Master relationship builder – Gains trust through action, develops deep business understanding, spots opportunities, and delivers value to the business

  5. Lover of ambiguity – Thrives and gains energy from navigating our ambiguous and changing environment

  6. Artfully distills complexity – Goes deep, synthesizes, simplifies, then story-tells to the audience
