Facebook Embedded Software/Firmware Engineer, Brain Computer Interface Team in Menlo Park, California
We are looking for an Embedded Software/Firmware Engineer to join our Brain-Computer Interface (BCI) team in Menlo Park, CA. In this role, you would work closely with researchers as part of a multi-disciplinary systems engineering team (e.g. mechanical, electrical, optical, and software) to design, build, test, and maintain novel wearable neural interface technologies. Our research is focused on developing functional brain-computer interface (BCI) technologies for use in consumer electronic products. Our team collaborates extensively with small companies and academic institutions, and publishes in peer-reviewed journals.
Design, develop and test embedded systems software and firmware (including kernel, drivers, etc.)
Work closely with software and hardware engineers, participating in design/code reviews
Collaborate with and/or oversee external hardware and software vendors to develop specific device drivers
Write maintainable, well-documented code for drivers and related tooling, along with test cases
Bachelors degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent
3+ years of experience in embedded systems software and firmware development for Linux based consumer electronics
C/C++, Python, and assembly coding experience
Knowledge of real-time systems and computer architecture
Experience with DSP programming
Experience with image sensor bringup
Experience with JTAG debugging
FPGA programming (Verilog/VHDL) experience
Some experience with data visualization
