We’re looking for an experienced vendor management thought-leader to continue to build out and drive our Vendor Management global compliance and regulatory program for the People organization. This role requires someone who is known for being detail-oriented and highly motivated, and is excited to lead in a flat organization that values collaboration and communication. You are a natural at building influence in cross-functional partnerships, employing industry standard best practices, and developing great stakeholder relationships across the entire organization. You thrive in a flat, fast-moving organization where you can use lightweight processes, a keen attention to detail, and quick iteration to have a huge impact. You should also be excited about staying hands-on with company vendor management strategy, evolving vendor management practices and domain expertise. You will not only drive strategy for the vendor compliance program, but also maintain accountability for the day-to-day management of Facebook’s internal, domestic, and international regulatory requirements within our global footprint.

This role will be focused on our global vendor footprint and the intersection of any of Facebook’s internal policies as well as regulatory requirements for third parties. The role shall include travel to global Facebook people centers. At least 15% of this Lead's time shall be spent traveling for face to face meetings with key stakeholders around the world. The role will require the ability to juggle priorities for multiple time zones.

Our end goal is to have a strong vendor management discipline infused across our People (HR) organization and integrated with our company-wide approach.

Required Skills:

  1. Drive the continued development of our vendor management framework, focusing on Facebook’s internal policies as well as regulatory requirements for third parties.

  2. Ensure timely completion of critical domestic and international milestones on our team roadmap and take ownership of high impact projects.

  3. Will be accountable for identifying key third party compliance requirements and areas of critical/high risk needs for development.

  4. Must understand contractual, commercial and operational working relationships with vendors to ensure that services are meeting enterprise needs.

  5. Identifies and facilitates all vendor governance risk in accordance with the contractual requirements, local regulatory requirements, or through the FB vendor engagement process, and escalates as necessary.

  6. Manages escalations and facilitates corrective action plans with stakeholders for governance or contractual non-compliance issues.

  7. Responsible for driving our mission to automate and standardize where appropriate.

  8. Ensure Vendor Management Team is mitigating, monitoring and managing vendor risks – including information security, corporate and regulatory compliance.

  9. Assess and report on the risk level of vendors based on privacy impact, skills, tools and the use of third parties.

  10. Identify and execute value opportunities with key strategic vendor relationships - analyze problem areas and help resolve issues and disputes. Manage communication process with vendors.

  11. Serves as a liaison and works in partnership with other cross functional teams, including information security, people compliance, people data privacy, legal, and sourcing. Keep stakeholders informed and communicate program goals effectively.

  12. Willingness to travel.

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. 7+ years of experience in vendor/supplier management or risk management.

  2. Experience with relationship management and third management principles/best practices.

  3. Organizational experience with experience handling multiple initiatives at one time.

  4. Bachelor’s degree.

  5. Proven communication and stakeholder relationship skills.

  6. Analytical approach to problem solving, with a focus on managing a team environment with attention to results and with a sense of urgency.

  7. Influencing skills with issue mitigation mentality.

  8. Project and process management skills, with experience handling multiple vendors projects, and a wide range of tasks.

  9. Solid knowledge of procurement and risk management systems/processes/tools.

  10. Familiarity with local data protection requirements for third parties, including GDPR, CCPA, and rest of world privacy implications.

  11. Familiarity with vendor risk-based management, third party assessments, and triage.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. 2+ years of experience in project/asset management, procurement and vendor relations in a technology environment.

  2. People management experience.

  3. MBA, JD, or graduate degree preferred.
