Facebook Head of Performance - Media Investment Centers of Excellence in Menlo Park, California

We're looking for an experienced consumer media and marketing leader to join our in-house Communications Planning and Media Investment (CPMI) team, which is part of the Consumer Marketing Organization. The CPMI team has scaled significantly as we've expanded our marketing efforts across our family of apps and services, and to engage more meaningfully with both our internal and external partners. This leadership role will be part of the Portfolio Investment Centers of Excellence, and report directly into the Head of Portfolio Investment.

This role will be responsible for leading channel investment strategies across the Facebook Family of Apps (Facebook Inc. Facebook Blue App, Messenger, WhatsApp, Portal and Oculus), partnering with cross-functional leaders and managing the external agency relationship. This person will bring thought leadership, best and next practices and recommendations for how and when to leverage all performance media platforms (Programmatic, Paid Social and Search) in ways that drive ROI for the company. S/he will also lead development of the Performance Marketing Team at Facebook.

Required Skills:

  3. Partner with the CPMI leadership team on strategic portfolio/team wide initiatives that will up-level and deliver best-in-class outputs across the organization

  4. Identify next practice based on marketplace and business evolution (cord cutters, light TV viewers, ad avoidance, etc.)

  5. Serve as a credible, expert voice internally to represent the Investment Centers of Excellence in all Performance related channels

  6. Provide ongoing Media expertise to CPMI Leadership Team and Communications Planning Managers as needed

  7. Partner with Media Agency to lead thinking and push recommendations to encompass advanced learnings while achieving business objectives

  8. Conduct ongoing landscape assessments to identify technologies/partners to test

  9. Partner with appropriate stakeholders (agencies, COEs, Decision Science, Insights, etc.) to influence testing of new capabilities (e.g. Personalized Consumer Experience)

  10. Discover synergies between Performance channels and other touchpoints (Social, Search, Video Content) for greater impact

  11. Determine effective reach & frequency levels, unit sizes/lengths, environment, view-ability levels and device strategies

  12. Represent Facebook as part of appropriate Industry organizations to gain learning in this area

  13. Author and publish starter guides, reference decks, and best practices toolkits

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. 12+ years of experience developing and leading Performance investment strategy and execution in digital, programmatic, search and social

  2. 7+ years of people management experience

  3. Experience with optimization strategies and proven track-record of campaign delivery

  4. Experience with industry trends and innovation in media, tracking, analytics and research

  5. Experience with consumer and cultural media trends

  6. Experience managing agency partners

  7. Experience with industry tools such as MRI, comScore, Nielsen

  8. Experience collaborating across all levels of management, teams, and disciplines

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Experience leading Performance Media within an Agency and Client-side

  2. Experience working very closely with Insights and Analytics teams

  3. Experience managing a growing team

  4. Experience working on consumer and/or tech brands

  5. Experience solving for full funnel campaign objectives (Brand Sentiment through Conversion and Advocacy/Brand Love)

  6. Knowledge of the Facebook advertising platform and expertise in crafting media solutions that drive positive outcomes

  7. Good instincts - able to initiate and drive outcomes independently and collaboratively, while operating in a complex organization

  8. Paid media experience across all channels

  9. Operationally minded with a quality service orientation

  10. Experience and comfort working in a fast-paced, and at times ambiguous environment
