Summary:

We’re looking for a Narrative Designer to partner with Facebook creative directors, content strategists, product designers, product managers, and researchers to define how narrative plays into virtual experiences.

The Narrative Designer will create the narrative vision, story, and social dynamics for games in order to enhance context and connections among players and the virtual game. This work will be instrumental in creating an interactive world that is both navigable and entertaining by leveraging multiple storytelling channels throughout the virtual experience.

Required Skills:

  1. Deliver foundational content to create a vision for the game world

  2. Develop storyboards, scripts for characters in-game, and plot lines for gameplay

  3. Create in-game instructions and directions for games and activities

  4. Create content prototypes to quickly iterate on activity ideas

  5. Partner with Content Strategists, Game Designers and Level Designers on an everyday basis

  6. Work proactively with Creative and Art Directors, bringing industry knowledge and creative solutions to their briefs and direction

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. 5+ years of work in developing content for games and/or interactive or virtual experiences

  2. Have shipped game titles, interactive experiences, or published narrative in other form (like book, script, play)

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. User Experience or Human Computer Interaction

  2. Writing degree or certificate

  3. Experience in the gaming industry

  4. Samples of work that shows experience across different content types like: Creative Writing, Scriptwriting, Fiction Writing
