Summary:

Facebook is seeking a strategic, analytical, and process/detail-oriented Planning and Operations Manager who can partner effectively with Enterprise Engineering leadership to drive business decision making. This role supports all Enterprise Engineering pillars to help drive projects to improve core operations, strategic initiatives, and enablement. The Planning and Operations Manager will manage a team of 2, while working cross-functionally with several groups at Facebook (including: security, finance, recruiting, HR, product, sales, etc.).

The objective of this role is to lead a team that drives strategic business decisions in close partnership with leadership by using clear frameworks, deploying excellent communication tactics, and producing deep analyses that will be used as the foundation upon which the recommendations are built. These business decisions will touch upon many aspects of the Enterprise Engineering organization, including organizational decisions, new product opportunities, goal setting, measuring KPIs, and tracking the rhythm of the business.

The ideal candidate is passionate about Facebook, views the world through an analytics lens, is a clear communicator, an inspiring leader and manager, and can quickly build relationships with people of varying personality types. They should be interested in the internal operations of a highly motivated/cutting edge IT organization, and able to move fast and independently on high-impact projects. This is a full-time position and is located in our Menlo Park office and may require light travel to global offices.

Required Skills:

  1. Be the trusted advisor for leadership on key business and operational activities across the following dimensions:

  2. Support Enterprise Engineering Pillars on medium/long-term planning for road-maps, including resourcing and organizational design

  3. Identify, scope, and drive critical projects and initiatives for the Enterprise Engineering Pillars, partnering with cross-functional teams across the organization

  4. Operations and Analytics:

  5. Project manage improvements for the Enterprise Engineering Pillars to drive higher efficiencies using data-driven approaches

  6. Lead analysis on business performance to drive operational changes around core operations, strategic initiatives, change management and adoption of new processes

  7. Drive operational excellence through the identification and execution of opportunity areas that create efficiency, remove obstacles, or create improved processes and approaches to the business

  8. Provide the CIO with valuable insights based on a deep understanding of KPIs and business rhythms

  9. Challenge regional decisions and ensure they are in line with a consistent, global approach

  10. Management:

  11. Manage a high performing Planning and Operations team

  12. Partner with management on key business and operational activities

  13. Develop strong collaborative relationships with key stakeholders across the company and represent the function in cross-functional teams

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. BA/BS degree

  2. 15+ years work experience in management strategy consulting or planning & operations, or 13+ years experience with MBA/Masters degree

  3. Demonstrated problem solving experience with experience providing business insights and recommendations from data sets

  4. Experience explaining concepts to audiences

  5. Experience with Excel

  6. People management experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. MBA or graduate degree in an analytic field

  2. Experience in IT organizations

  3. Experience working with or in support of many different business units
