Summary:

Come be part of a talented team of designers passionate about the future of AI and creating the very best products for Facebook's 2 billion plus users. As a an Product Design Intern, AI you will be involved in every aspect of the product development process, from brainstorming new features to building completely new products involving Facebook AI. You will be expected to utilize your full range of product design, interaction design, prototyping and visual design skills to bring abstract concepts to life across wide ares of Facebook.

Required Skills:

  1. Take broad, conceptual ideas and turn them into something useful and valuable for our billion plus users

  2. Design flows and experiences that are incredibly simple and elegant

  3. Contribute to high-level strategic decisions with the rest of the product and executive teams

  4. Give and solicit feedback from other designers in order to continually raise our bar for quality

  5. Partner with PMs, engineers, researchers and content strategists to oversee the user experience of a product from conception until launch (and then some)

  6. Create prototypes, demos and presentations showcasing Facebook AI

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Link to portfolio featuring examples of interaction design work

  2. Ability to think at a high level about product strategy and vision (what we build, not just how it looks)

  3. Comfortable taking abstract ideas and developing them into clearly designed products

  4. Proven ability to execute on visual and interaction details

  5. Ability to clearly articulate and present your design decisions

  6. Knowledge of AI technologies and the market AI exists in

  7. Experience with programming (you should be able to code up a simple web site and/or an application)

  8. Pursuing a BA/BS degree or equivalent in a design related field

  9. Must be currently enrolled in a full-time degree program and returning to the program after the completion of the internship/co-op

  10. Must obtain work authorization in country of employment at the time of hire, and maintain ongoing work authorization during employment

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Recent use and knowledge of Procedural Engines, Game Engines and/or 3D Design tools (e.g., Unreal, Grasshopper, Unity, Houdini, OpenGL / WebGL, 3D modeling / CAD)
