Summary:

Oculus is seeking a Product Marketing Lead to support products under early development stages. The successful candidate is someone passionate about building virtual and augmented reality products and experiences for the next generation of interactive, socially connected consumers. The Product Marketing Lead will spearhead the definition and development of our MR and AR products and explore how nascent technologies and solutions can be effectively leveraged within products. This role requires working collaboratively with our Facebook Reality Labs and Core Tech R&D teams, as well as our product org cross-functional teams including product management, hardware, software, and user research to shape product concept, product definition and product roadmap aimed at delivering meaningful interactions for clearly defined and receptive audiences. This role will initiate and lead activities involved in identifying industry, market and consumer needs and opportunities, ensuring clear and differentiated naming and positioning for all products and technology solutions on the inbound side. Develop compelling go-to-market strategies aimed at driving successful user adoption and growth objectives ok the outbound side. To be successful, the candidate will bring a combination of strategic vision, communication skills, collaborative mindset and solid hardware product launch experience, having worked in highly cross-functional, dynamic environments built to move fast, ruthlessly prioritize, and pivot quickly as needed to incubate future technologies. This role is based in Menlo Park, CA, and reports into the Head of Product Marketing.

Required Skills:

  1. Partner closely with product teams to define the strategy, roadmap and success metrics for all MR/AR products through a consumer lens, ensuring product market fit and long-term lifecycle management

  2. Bring a strong consumer POV to inform and guide strategic decisions and tradeoffs related to product value and positioning, features, schedules, cost, pricing, and lifecycle management

  3. Lead market assessment and sizing through quantitative analysis, qualitative feedback and represent the voice of the consumer internally with Product Management and R&D teams in the prioritization, design and development of products and experiences

  4. Identify long-term opportunities and strategic views of product(s) direction based on market assessment, qualitative research and quantitative analysis

  5. Demonstrate and illustrate an understanding of the broader AR/MR ecosystem and competitive landscape to identify clear use case opportunities for product market fit of our AR/MR products and future tech solutions

  6. Develop product positioning, naming, audience definition and sizing, and go-to-market strategy for a portfolio of products and technologies

  7. Guide product adoption and engagement targets by identifying and informing barriers and opportunities for success

  8. Fiscal accountability and management of allocated product marketing budget

  9. Manage a small team of PMMs

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. 10+ years of product marketing experience in consumer technology, hardware and/or software technology companies

  2. Experience in strategic product marketing and hands-on tactical execution

  3. Experience with consumer research and knowledge in using data and insights to inform product strategy

  4. Experience working in a cross-functional environment

  5. People management experience

  6. BA/BS degree in business, accounting, engineering, finance, marketing, or related field
