The AR/VR Product Marketing team is seeking an individual who is passionate about building and marketing innovative VR media products and experiences that inspire new creators and their audiences to discover VR. This position will lead a team responsible for product marketing of third party media products (e.g. Netflix, YouTube) as well as first party products within Facebook's AR/VR Experiences team, specifically creator-facing media applications and creation tools (e.g. Oculus Venues, Quill and 3D photos).
The right person can effectively lead a team responsible for both strategy and execution, and is analytical and creative. They are a strong people manager but not afraid to dive in and support the day-to-day work. This product marketing team is focused on the inbound phase of product marketing and strategy to inform outbound marketing with internal partners. Inbound product marketing responsibilities include up front analysis to identify market needs by segment, opportunity and audience sizing, product positioning and key messaging, content portfolio strategy, and being the “voice of the user.”
This role will be deeply embedded with the product team but represent the perspective of marketing and voice of the consumer within product development.
Create a product marketing strategy to identify opportunities to grow the VR audience through creation, acquisition and promotion of compelling first and third party media products.
Lead a product marketing team responsible for both inbound product marketing across first party media applications as well as third party product marketing of key media partners and products.
Drive effective and scalable partnership and co-marketing planning with key third party partners and IP publishers.
Partner effectively with Product Management and broader marketing teams to lead successful product marketing communications around test and launch phases and clearly communicate value propositions of new products to go-to-market and brand teams.
Leverage quantitative and qualitative insights from research and analysis to influence product strategy and inform positioning, go-to-market plans, creative assets, and campaigns.
Partner with other content leads to inform the long term VR content strategy.
8+ years of marketing or product experiences, with demonstrable experience of bringing the 'voice of the user' into product development
4+ years experience as a people manager
Experience negotiating marketing commitment in contracts
Experience with media-related products or formats
Consumer marketing experience
Communication experience across functions (e.g., creative teams, legal, policy, marketing, partnerships, ops)
Experience creating market requirement documents, including audience definition, positioning statements and defined value propositions
Analytical and problem-solving experience
Experience managing a multi-disciplinary team
Track record of successfully bringing new products to market
Effectiveness working independently in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial, and fluid environment, with the ability to adapt, spot issues early, and escalate
Balance of creative and analytic thinking, putting forth best-in-class execution within a measurable and data-driven framework
Understanding of Virtual or Augmented reality
