Facebook Product Marketing Manager, Public Connections in Menlo Park, California

Summary:

Facebook is seeking an individual who is passionate about the experience of public figures, creators and other people with a public presence to help build the products and tools on Facebook to make them successful. This position will be responsible for helping to shape product roadmaps and execute against global launch plans to bring products to market.

The focus of this role will be on driving market requirements into product planning to inform how public figures and creators can more easily use the Facebook app to connect with their fans and followers, and to reach new people, as well as providing a forum for these public people to safely and authentically engage with other public people or with fans and followers.

The successful candidate is both data-driven and has the ability to synthesize trends and feedback from these public figures and creators, and can effectively work with colleagues across the company to drive results. This product marketing role is focused on the inbound phase of product marketing with initially public figures and creators (but will extend to other people with public presence as well as businesses), as well as the initial phases of outbound product marketing. Inbound product marketing responsibilities include foundational analysis to identify market needs by public figure or creator segment, opportunity sizing, gathering deep feedback from internal and external stakeholders, representing the “view of the partner” and running alpha and beta testing processes. Outbound product marketing responsibilities include leading launch planning including associated messaging and positioning. This role is highly cross-functional and will work closely with the Product, Engineering, Media Partnerships, Design, Research, Communications and Marketing teams.

This is a full-time position based in Menlo Park, California.

Required Skills:

  1. Drive product strategy bridging short-term execution and long-term vision

  2. Identify opportunities and represent view of the market by conducting industry research, including deep quantitative, qualitative and competitive analysis

  3. Analyze product performance, synthesize partner feedback and advocate improvements

  4. Quarterback go-to-market efforts globally to support product launches and scaled adoption

  5. Manage comprehensive, cross-functional activities including alphas/betas, positioning, policy and product documentation

  6. Partner with the Product Management, Media Partnerships, Engineering, Partner Managers, Communications and other key teams

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. 7+ years experience with 3+ years experience working in a product marketing, management consulting, product strategy or equivalent function (partnered with product management and/or engineering to represent partner requirements)

  2. BA/BS degree

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Management consulting experience in media or businesses

  2. Media experience including understanding of use of social media by public figures and creators both in U.S. and globally

  3. Experience working with public figures and creators

  4. Experience collaborating cross-functionally and building consensus among multiple stakeholders in an entrepreneurial, high-expectation environment

  5. Scrappy, resourceful, action and detail-oriented, with a high ownership mindset to deliver measurable impact

  6. Quantitative analytical experience and communication skills

  7. MBA
