Facebook Sales Planning Lead in Menlo Park, California

AR/VR at Facebook is seeking a highly quantitative, driven, and creative Sales Planning Lead to focus on Sales Planning. This position will require cross-functional coordination across several groups, with an emphasis on partnering with Sales Account managers, Finance, Marketing, Operations and BD. The successful candidate will combine strategic planning and decision making with deep data analytics and insights. The ideal candidate will be passionate about AR/VR and consumer hardware, have a demonstrated interest in data and technology, work well independently, and be highly analytical. This role will challenge the candidate to understand and impact many facets of hardware business strategy, including sales planning, financial forecasting, strategic pricing, trade marketing, sales analytics and supply chain analytics. This is a full-time position and is located at HQ in Menlo Park, California.

Required Skills:

  1. Forecast and track weekly, monthly, quarterly and yearly sales performance of the hardware products in AR/VR

  2. Drive forecast development process to increase planning accuracy across different channels, in collaboration with account managers and cross-functional teams (finance, marketing, supply chain)

  3. Partner with Supply Chain & Operations to impact production and launch decisions

  4. Partner with Finance and Marketing to impact pricing strategy across entire portfolios of products

  5. Analyze Sales data to generate actionable insights about sales trend and its drivers

  6. Share forecast assumptions and impact of the various activities to forecast outcomes to other teams

  7. Evaluate promotional programs, new revenue initiative financials and assess new markets for growth

  8. Present outcomes at reviews with business leaders across Facebook, including the AR/VR executive team and members of the AR/VR Sales team

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. B.S. or M.S. in business-related or quantitative field (Economics, Finance, Math, Engineering, or similar discipline)

  2. 5+ years of experience in business strategy, finance, analytics or sales planning

  3. Experience with Excel & PowerPoint

  4. Experience problem solving individually or in a group setting and knowledge in financial drivers of the business

  5. Experience designing, leading and executing analysis and communicating insights

  6. Experience shifting priorities, while maintaining organization and control

  7. Communication and interpersonal experience

  8. Experience with SQL/database and forecasting tools (anaplan, Algo, e2open)

  9. Experience developing a forecasting process

  10. Knowledge in forecast accuracy metrics and statistical knowledge around forecasting

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Experience in strategic planning in tech company, investment banking or strategy consulting with a focus on technology

  2. Experience in SQL/Tableau/Power BI/visualization tools

  3. Experience in consumer electronics businesses

  4. Experience communicating insights gained from data with clarity and impact

  5. Experience in ecommerce businesses
