Facebook System Operations Manager, Field Systems in Menlo Park, California

Summary:

In this role with the Global Data Center Connectivity (GDCC) Team, you will work closely with our GDCC internal teams and various cross-functional departments (i.e., Data Center Analytics, Procurement, Quality and Project Controls) to support all aspects of field management systems for fiber/copper cabling installation, QA/QC, operational work orders, and integration for Facebook’s growing Data Center Construction team. Excellent communication, presentation, and analytical skills are a must in this highly collaborative role. This is a full-time role based in our Menlo Park headquarters and includes regular travel to our global data centers.

Required Skills:

  1. Partner with global business partners and site teams to understand existing systems, business and reporting requirements in context of the Field Operations’ solution and process

  2. Primary point of contact for evaluating, analyzing, implementing and supporting field operations tools that will enable engineers to record field events (walk throughs, issues, acceptances) and model the FE processes in an enterprise grade systems

  3. Understand Field Operation's tooling landscape, interactions with adjacent systems (scheduling, cost and document control systems)

  4. Devise a system, training road-map to on-board new sites and field personnel

  5. increase adoption and standardize processes collaboratively with the field community

  6. Provide hands-on program management during evaluation, design, development, testing, implementation, analysis, and post implementation of field related tooling

  7. Manage expectations of all interested parties – define clear program with key deliverable and milestone dates for implementation

  8. Provide regular communication of program level updates to various stakeholders

  9. Collect, analyze, and present data (e.g. performance metrics) to enable informed decisions

  10. Explore and stay informed of internal/external system applications that can bolster our team’s existing software suite of systems and bring automation and efficiency to the organization

  11. Provide research and data to support the decision for additional implementation of global systems

  12. Build relationships, gain consensus, remove roadblocks, and focus on solution delivery, improve process efficiencies

  13. Up to 20% travel to various Facebook sites and Data Centers (including international travel)

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. BA/BS or equivalent in engineering, construction management, or similar work experience

  2. 5+ years of experience in program/project/product management

  3. Working knowledge of project management software, MS Excel, PowerPoint, Oracle P6 , Oracle Unifier

  4. Experience collaborating with internal or cross-functional partners across a global organization

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Experience working in the Fiber Optic/Copper cabling industry in or outside a data center

  2. PMP and/or Six Sigma Certification
