Facebook is developing a wide range of technologies to connect the unconnected to the internet. One such technology is Terragraph, which is a 60GHz wireless backbone mesh network. The test framework for Terragraph is designed to support testing across multiple configurations and will range from single unit tests to networks of connected radios in both the laboratory and the field. Testing that uses the automated system will concentrate on layers L1 and above. The automated test system is used to support continuous software integration, regression testing, unit testing, and field testing.

Facebook Connectivity will leverage our test infrastructure across multiple projects. We are looking for an experienced Wireless/Network Test Software Engineer to help develop and maintain automated test solutions for our new generation of connectivity solutions. The successful candidate must be able to architect and develop automated test software. This position is full-time and based in Menlo Park.

Required Skills:

  1. Architect software test frameworks

  2. Partner with software and system engineers to ensure test frameworks meet requirements

  3. Lead a team of software developers to implement software test frameworks

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. BS/MS degree in EE, CS, Physics, Math, or Science with 4+ years of work experience

  2. Experience architecting and developing software

  3. Experience in Python programming

  4. Experience in UI development

  5. Knowledge of wireless PHY/MAC protocols

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Knowledge of basic Ethernet and routing protocols (with a heavy emphasis on Linux based systems)

  2. Knowledge of 802.11 standards
