Facebook Workplace Design Manager in Menlo Park, California

Summary:

The candidate will be responsible for leading design and standards for Facebook Offices. The candidate will have strong spatial skills with experience in the implementation of workplace strategies and the ability to translate business requirements into space requirements and design for the business units.

The successful candidate will have a leadership role on Facebook’s in-house Workplace Design Studio and real estate team reporting to the Global Workplace Design Director.

Required Skills:

  1. Strategically collaborate and work with management to ensure that the overall direction of the company is followed and implemented

  2. Analysis of design performance and space related data, ability to perform trending analysis and continuously researching workplace performance

  3. Direct and collaborate with architects, external designers, GC/Construction Project Managers, furniture vendors and internal FB groups to adhere to Global Space Design Guidelines and Global Furniture Guidelines

  4. Work closely with facility design team, project architect, project furniture vendor(s) and other internal technical teams to ensure projects are completed on time, within scope and within budget regarding design

  5. Meet with prospective end users and prepare fit-plans and/or design & space plans based upon programming requirements

  6. Lead customer user requirements and translate/design and space needs into workplace scenarios

  7. Assist & prepare presentation materials including as-built plans, design look & feel, hypothetical space plans and furniture layouts for the Region

  8. Act as primary contact for all design, workplace standards, design reconfigurations and construction coordination for the furniture

  9. Ergonomics work with global design team to incorporate global standards

  10. Contribute, monitor and maintain dashboard metrics and reports as needed

  11. Strong mechanical aptitude as it relates to furniture, fixtures and equipment in the workplace

  12. Review construction drawings and design packets for adherence to FB design standards as well as project look & feel

  13. Oversee design and furniture scope for new build project sites as well as specialty projects at existing sites from beginning to completion

  14. Manage furniture budget, and miscellaneous vendor(s) delivery/installation timelines and on-site project installations

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. 15+ years of Architecture and/or Design Management experience in Architecture Firm and/or Corporate Interior Projects.

  2. Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Architecture or Interior Architectural.

  3. Knowledge and experience in all phases of architectural/design projects.

  4. Experience working independently and as part of a team in situations with deadlines and changing priorities.

  5. Experience maintaining internal and external relationships.

  6. Experience with facilities management, hospitality services, physical security, operations, and/or real estate planning.

  7. Communication experience and experience driving results through informal authority, serving as a consultant to internal customers, and representing users and customers.

  8. Experience identifying and anticipating organizational needs, establishing priorities, and then planning, executing and delivering on varying simultaneous projects while working in cross-functional teams with little supervision.

  9. Customer service experience including organizational, interpersonal and communication experience.
