Our Operations team work around the clock to protect and serve the community of over two billion people. They're dedicated and focused on assisting the community on the Facebook platform but also Instagram, Messenger, Marketplace, Social Good and more. Therefore, the systems that enable us to do this work is vitally important and must be highly available and have the ability to scale. This is in order to meet the demands and our desire to deliver on our company mission.

The Director for Online Operations Engineering is at the forefront of our mission to give people the power to build community and bring the world closer together. This is a fast-paced, high-execution and strategic role which requires high technical aptitude, strategic service prowess, creativity and strong business acumen. You'll leverage your track record of building strong, international, engineering teams and enabling them to thrive in a dynamic and high velocity environment.

Required Skills:

  1. Lead international engineer teams that can scale with the growing needs of the Facebook community

  2. Advise and partner with executives across the Operation to bring about system solutions for the business

  3. Deliver high value service models and offerings to empower our operational teams

  4. Accountable for driving the global engineering metrics and KPIs for the business

  5. Operate in multiple time zones to understand and define market specific opportunities

  6. Provide management guidance on organizational effectiveness, change management and conflict resolution

  7. Partner with global leaders, HR, L&D & Recruiting to develop and execute on a holistic people strategy to attract, retain and develop top talent and role model leadership best practices

  8. Willingness to travel approximately 20% of the time

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. 8+ years experience in software engineering leadership

  2. 5+ years people management experience including managing leaders and managing remotely across regions

  3. Strategic thinker with proven track record of transforming operations to provide customer experience through innovation and improvement

  4. Track record of working with VP, C-level Executives

  5. Experience deploying operational support models across enterprise organizations

  6. Communication/presentations experience

  7. Experience working with all levels of management internally and externally

  8. Experience meeting objectives in an entrepreneurial environment

  9. Collaboration and relationship-building experience

  10. BA/BS degree or higher
