Community Operations' focus is on supporting our users through both direct support interactions as well as scalable solutions, and on improving the health of our products by helping people understand how to use them. The Safety team within Community Operations strives to create a safe atmosphere for the Facebook and Instagram communities through outstanding support, education, and care for the various people around the world who use our platforms. We pride ourselves in helping prevent online and real-world harm by building fast, scalable support systems to address safety-related incidents on our products, and by influencing others to collaborate on cross-functional initiatives.
The team is looking for an experienced people manager to join the Safety Investigations team. The team investigates safety issues on the platform to support our community and prevent real-world harm. Our ideal candidate excels at managing high-performing teams and has a passion for safety and online investigations. We're seeking a leader who is analytical, operationally-focused, and can provide direction and mentorship to a high-performing team. You will work and communicate effectively cross-functionally to build relationships and drive priorities across multiple organizations.
Manage and provide mentorship to a high-performing team of managers and/or investigators who are leading online safety investigations, providing mentorship and career development
Help define global team vision and structure, establish team and individual goals, and communicate strategy, tactics and behaviors required to achieve these goals
Define, track, and analyze key operational and performance metrics, identify trends, and develop solutions to optimize team processes and introduce new solutions to improve efficiency
Build strong relationships with global and cross-functional partners including Product, Engineering, Legal, and Policy teams, in order to understand and anticipate risks to the company, and develop solutions to improve our product, policies, and procedures
Identify and apply investigative best practices within and across teams
Regularly communicate and interface with leadership and global executives in crisis management situations
Address sensitive content issues, including but not limited to graphic images, videos and writings, offensive or derogatory language, and other objectionable material
5+ years of experience in operations or investigations, including experience contributing at both strategic and operational levels
5+ years of people management experience
Experience solving problems at scale
Strategic thinker with analytical and problem-solving experience
Experience communicating to a variety of audiences
3+ years of experience in a Trust & Safety space
7+ years of people management experience
Experience managing people managers remotely, across global regions
Self-starting, intellectually curious and creative individual comfortable operating in ambiguity
Comfortable working with highly sensitive graphic content
