Facebook Business Planning and Operations Analyst in New York, New York

Seeking an Operations Analyst to support the work of the global Planning & Process team. The individual will be tasked with taking on operational processes, which are centrally run, to coordinate structure, document and enhance, with the ultimate aim of automation or handing off to a support team. Many processes and workstreams have formed to plan the complex and sizeable Ads business model. The role will focus on reducing manual and operational work in the wider team, ensuring that we continue on plan and ensuring there are high standards in place for plan quality. The role offers an opportunity to see a wide variety of global operations and move between different projects on a regular basis and will be asked to investigate particular queries related to the processes, requiring a set of technical and data analysis skills in Excel and SQL.The team vision is to create truly connected planning that leverages best practices and standardized processes while being supportive of ever evolving business dynamics. This is achieved through strong infrastructure and constructing processes which anticipate change to our business model.

Required Skills:

  1. Operational Support for Planning & Process Operations:

  2. Able to pick up operational improvements across the full set of planning workstreams for Facebook’s Ads business, GMS. Able to understand the technical details that drive the systems and operational models, while also guiding the operations towards GMS standards and best practices in collaboration with wider GMS Mission Control

  3. Bridge operational work with CRM operations teams which provide the plan tooling for the Scaled sales programs

  4. Help co-ordinate planning tool opening/closing, and associated comms or milestones with an aim to automate these actions in the long term or hand over to the operational support team

  5. Help investigate pro-actively and resolve data issues impacting planning processes which reduce plan quality

  6. Numerical Modeling and construction of Information Systems:

  7. Work with Anaplan to construct information flows and models used in planning activities

  8. The output is expected to be scalable and automated so that manual action is kept to a minimum

  9. Construct new planning models and information flows in Anaplan

  10. Support of wider GMS Planning rhythm:

  11. To build out knowledge of the wider GMS processes, this role will support the Process owners for GMS planning rhythm and assist in the planning and processes supporting all Sales teams

  12. Execute needed quick ad-hoc changes to Planning tools in Anaplan

  13. Provide ad-hoc analysis into process performance and exceptional issues

  14. Creation and maintenance of Planning Processes documentation to facilitate handover to the operational support team

  15. Support of wider program planning as the team on board more GMS teams (Agency Sales, Reseller Sales, Partner Sales)

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Minimum 3 years’ experience in a business operational role, analytics or planning experience

  2. At a minimum, BA/BS degree in a numerate or business related subject (Business Management, Finance, Statistics, Finance, Computer Science, Mathematics, Information Systems, etc.) or equivalent practical experience

  3. Demonstrable problem solving experience with experience providing practical business insights from large, complex data sets

  4. Proven experience with managing information strategy and data structure

  5. Advanced Excel skills & SQL knowledge and basic understanding of computer programming

  6. General knowledge of basic statistics and data analysis

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Anaplan modelling experience
