Summary:

Facebook Reality Labs is dedicated to the research and development required to bring virtual and augmented reality to billions of people around the world. At the Pittsburgh lab, we aspire to a vision of social VR and AR, where people are able to interact with each other across distances in a way that is indistinguishable from in-person interactions. As a Software Engineer at FRL Pittsburgh, you will be solving challenges at the forefront of computer vision and machine learning. You will work alongside world-class researchers, engineers, and artists collaborating together on the innovation necessary to make that vision a reality. You will be expected to push forward the frontiers of research and publish your work at leading venues in the field. We want people who work well across disciplines, can brainstorm big ideas, and are excited to work in new technology areas.

Required Skills:

  1. Code high-volume software using C++

  2. Develop robust algorithms and systems for integrating and analyzing multiple sensors and modalities

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Experience in C++

  2. Interpersonal experience: cross-group and cross-culture collaboration

  3. Must obtain work authorization in country of employment at the time of hire, and maintain ongoing work authorization during employment

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field

  2. 2+ years of experience in the field of Computer Vision, Computer Graphics, Audio Processing, Speech Analysis, and/or Machine Learning

  3. GPU programming experience including CUDA and OpenGL

  4. Demonstrated software engineering experience from previous internship, work experience, coding competitions, or publications
