Facebook Technical Lead Manager in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania

Facebook Reality Lab Pittsburgh is looking for a talented Technical Lead Manager to accelerate the progression to authentic social presence in augmented reality. In this role, you would lead systems software development, working closely with researchers as part of a multi-disciplinary systems engineering team (e.g. mechanical, electrical, and software) to design, build, test, and maintain next-generation platforms for augmented reality technologies. You will have to work at various levels of the software stack, from device drivers to operating systems, core libraries to user experiences. You have the experience and talent for managing other software engineers, and enjoy mentoring, coaching, and providing feedback. Required Skills:

  1. Technical leadership in the lab’s AR software engineering efforts

  2. Work with Research Scientists and Software Engineers to understand challenges in building state-of-the-art software systems

  3. Propose and implement reliable, maintainable, and scalable system-level software solutions to facilitate research activities

  4. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to capture system requirements

  5. Participate in design reviews and code reviews

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Bachelors degree in fields related to computer science and engineering

  2. 7+ years of experience using C++ for software development

  3. 3+ years of experience in Python

  4. Experience developing on Window and Linux

  5. Hands-on experience with scientific and industrial data capture hardware and software

  6. Hands-on experience in using version control systems

  7. Experience approaching software engineering problems systematically and independently

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Masters degree or doctorate in fields related to computer science and engineering

  2. 10+ years of experience using C++ for software development

  3. Hands-on experience with computer graphics, rendering, game engines

  4. Hands-on experience with scientific and/or industrial data capture hardware and software

  5. Hands-on experience with embedded systems

  6. Experience with ML Frameworks such as PyTorch, Caffe2, and TensorFlow

  7. Experience with High Performance Computing

  8. Experience with OpenCV, Eigen, PCL, Boost, Qt

  9. Experience with MATLAB

  10. Experience with Robotics
