Meta AR Hardware Systems Architect in Redmond, Washington

Summary:

The AR Hardware Systems Architect is a technical role responsible for driving innovation and modeling and tracking the system's power architecture and requirements, from concept to scale, for AR Glasses devices. Working directly under the Head of AR Glasses Hardware, this individual contributor collaborates with cross-functional leaders in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, power, silicon, display, optics, system architecture, systems engineering, product management, Industrial design, XRTech, Software, manufacturing and Operations. They must have a proven track record of successfully shipping products, demonstrating technical depth, and possessing strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Required Skills:

AR Hardware Systems Architect Responsibilities:

  1. Lead hardware and technology teams on power decisions through all phases of engineering design, development, and validation to bring complex AR Glasses products to mass production.

  2. Establish strategic relationships with product peers in engineering, research, business, design, and user research teams to define product requirements and power architecture.

  3. Provide technical ownership and guidance to make crucial hardware product decisions, enabling the realization of cutting-edge AR Glasses devices for Meta's users.

  4. Collaborate effectively across all levels of management and individual contributors both internally and externally.

  5. Drive business results, optimize overall business objectives, and foster an environment of collaboration and innovation.

Minimum Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineer, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering or relevant industry experience

  2. 12+ years of experience in hardware product development, with an experience and a track record of successfully shipping products to market

  3. Experience with multiple full life-cycle product launches

  4. Proven Technical expertise in one of the following hardware disciplines, including electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, display, optics, or systems engineering

  5. Proven leadership skills, demonstrating the experience to lead cross-functional hardware and technology teams throughout the entire product development cycle

  6. Effective communication skills, to articulate complex technical concepts and drive alignment on product requirements and architecture

  7. Previous ownership of power architecture for a mass-produced consumer product or product class

  2. Previous AR/VR or Wearables experience

  3. Ph.D. or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field

Public Compensation:

$204,000/year to $281,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
