Facebook Design Program Manager, Facebook Reality Labs in Redmond, Washington
Facebook Reality Labs is a research science organization within Facebook, focused on inventing the future of augmented reality and virtual reality. Design Program Managers at Facebook Reality Labs are passionate connectors and problem solvers. You will lead the operations of the Design team, and improve team communication, collaboration, and remove roadblocks. By working closely with the Director of Design and design leads, you will define the design workflow, facilitate project throughput, and run the team’s kanban or sprint processes. Finally, you'll utilize a full range of organizational and interpersonal skills to help keep our teams on track, execute specific design initiatives intended to grow team culture, industry expertise, and team impact, and you'll have an opportunity to work with cross-functional teams as you establish great ways of working together.
Coordinate the design team’s collaboration with multiple research science teams and cross-functional partners
Document and automate operational processes to continually reduce manual support needs
Innovate and create new ways to work more efficiently and effectively so that designers spend less time on basic tasks and more time on complex problems
Become an organizational expert to connect the dots between disparate parts of large organizations
Act as the primary point of contact for intake of new work and set up of new working groups/project teams
Define and run a kanban or sprint workflow for the design team that ensures high throughput and effective planning, with minimum overhead for designers
Create and maintain team documentation, wikis, and websites
Plan and run recurring team meetings
Manage vendor relationships with agencies and consultants
5+ years of experience in a producer/project/program management role, or other operationally-focused position
Experience running an Agile workflow such as Kanban, Scrum, SAFe, Extreme Programming, etc.
Demonstrated experience measuring and tracking goal delivery and KPIs
Track record of operating independently
