Required Skills:

Research Engineer - Computer Vision & Machine Learning Responsibilities:

  1. Develop creative computer vision and tracking software supporting Meta AR and VR research

  2. Plan and execute cutting-edge research to advance machine perception technology and user context understanding

  3. Develop novel real-time 3D scene understanding techniques

  4. Research and prototype techniques and algorithms for 2D/3D object detection and recognition

  5. Develop robust software for integrating multiple sensors and scene understanding systems

  6. Develop human-in-the-loop data annotation tools and systems

Minimum Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Currently has or is in the process of obtaining a PhD degree or postdoctoral assignment in the field of Computer Vision, Machine Learning, Computer Graphics, Robotics or similar

  2. 3+ years experience with computer vision – specifically 2D/3D scene understanding

  3. 2+ years of experience engineering in C++ or Python

  4. 2+ Experience with computer vision/machine learning libraries such as OpenCV / Torch

  5. Knowledge in image analysis, machine learning, information theory, and 3D geometry

  6. Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience. Degree must be completed prior to joining Meta.

  1. Strong understanding of computer vision and 3D geometry concepts, with experience in developing and deploying computer vision applications.

  2. Experiences in working with large-scale datasets through semi-supervision and self-supervision

  3. 5+ years of experience in the field of 2D/3D scene understanding with CV/ML in production

  4. Professional industry experience in the field of Computer Vision, Machine Learning, Computer Graphics, Robotics or similar

  5. Publication track record at conferences such as SIGGRAPH, CVPR, NIPS, ECCV, ICCV, ISMAR, ICML, etc.

  6. Experience with annotation tooling and techniques for labeling and annotating data, including bounding boxes, keypoints, and semantic segmentation.

Public Compensation:

$117,000/year to $173,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
