Facebook Research Scientist, Neural Networks Research in Redmond, Washington
We are seeking a part time Research Scientist to support development of state-of-the-art deep learning components optimized for computer vision and computer graphics. The successful candidate will be part of our efforts to architect, design and implement the software needed to analyze large video and photo collections and will be part of a team that includes algorithm, user experience, and software experts. The ideal candidate will understand the full stack of research to algorithms and architecture.
Enable new user experiences in computational photography/computer vision/computer graphics/AR/VR via innovative applications of deep learning techniques for body tracking, user interface and other use-cases
Publish the research in top tier conferences
Work with the engineering team to incorporate in a product if appropriate or open source the code to advance the research community
Employ the scientific method to evaluate performance and to debug, diagnose and drive resolution of cross-disciplinary system issues
BS Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience
Experience in deep learning algorithms and techniques, e.g., convolutional neural networks, recurrent networks
Software design and programming experience in C/C++ for development, debugging, testing and performance analysis
Experience crossing multi-disciplinary boundaries to drive optimal system solutions
