Reality Labs Research (RL-R) brings together a diverse and highly interdisciplinary team of researchers and engineers to create the future of augmented and virtual reality.Our team aims to define the worldwide standard for extended reality (XR) interaction with unparalleled software that accelerates research and creates novel capabilities.This requires a passion for accelerating researchers building models in Human Computer Interaction (HCI) research. In our collaborative environment, you’ll partner with expert research scientists, hardware engineers, and software developers to build groundbreaking wristbands. You’ll partner with expert research scientists, mechanical engineers, electrical engineers and a team of brilliant software minds to ensure seamless integration across hardware, firmware and software components.Ultimately, you’ll foster scientific explorations and generate viable paths to the consumer products that will connect people in meaningful ways for decades to come. Required Skills:
Software Engineer - AR/VR Interactions Architect Responsibilities:
Effectively communicate complex features and systems in detail while advocating for higher product quality and engineering efficiency
Define interfaces and modules that allow developers and researchers to easily build experiments and gather the data they need to make informed decisions.
Collaborate in a diverse team environment with hardware, software and firmware engineers to support multi-device constellations exploring novel AR/VR interactions.
Code using primarily C/C++, Java, and Python
Conduct design and code reviews
Analyze and improve efficiency, scalability, and stability of various system resources
Build platforms, tools, and documentation that enable more efficient and effective research
Learn constantly, educate others, build with inclusion as a core value, dive into new areas with unfamiliar technologies, and embrace the ambiguity of AR/VR problem solving
Minimum Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
10+ years experience architecting complex systems that involve both hardware and software components
10+ years C/C++ experience, including modern C++ features and principles
8+ years experience designing, creating, and extending software development kits distributed to other developer customers

Driver, firmware, OS or embedded systems development
Hardware bring-up, hardware prototyping, and interfacing with new hardware SDKs
Game engines such as Unreal or Unity

$213,000/year to $293,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
