Facebook Brazil is seeking an experienced Communications Manager to lead communications for private messaging products in Brazil. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing the communications strategy to convey the love people have for using private messaging to connect with friends and family. This role will also highlight the growing products for businesses and educate people about key privacy and security features, including end-to-end encryption. We are looking for someone who brings relationships with media and opinion leaders and has a proven track record of executing high-profile, creative campaigns and handling corporate issues and public affairs matters. This is a hands-on role with significant day-to-day responsibilities and an opportunity to grow a communications practice in one of the most important regions for Facebook and its affiliated companies.
Create and implement a long term communications strategy to reflect the joy people have in using private messaging, its impact for local businesses, and the importance of privacy and security for all users.
Develop and maintain relationships with media and opinion leaders to explain the differences between private messaging and social media
Own executions of public relations programs — from proactive pitches highlighting positive uses of messaging products to feature launches, partnerships or marketing campaigns as well as handling issues as they arise
Manage external PR agencies to support these efforts.
Work with cross-functional teams in Sao Paulo and the Latin America region - to include policy and partnerships - as well as leaders in California.
10+ years of professional experience in communications and public relations in Brazil or the Latin America region
Bachelors degree in communications, journalism, english, history, writing, or another field
Experience working with tech, corporate, and mass media including a track record of developing campaigns that have achieved their goals.
Self starter that with a desire to engage with stakeholders in the media and beyond
Solid communications and decision-making skills
Fluency in Portuguese ad English is mandatory
