Facebook Partner Engineer, Video Tools in San Francisco, California

Summary:

Partner Engineering is a highly technical team that helps partners grow their business using the Facebook platform. In this role, we’re looking for someone who enjoys product ownership, collaboration, and data-driven decision making. The ideal candidate will combine excellent technical, and business skills to make our partners successful. Are you interested in influencing the future of TV and digital video? On the Video Tools team, you will work on the digital supply chain for Facebook Watch. You will develop systems that move and measure video all over the globe. As a Partner Engineer, you will have a holistic understanding Facebook’s video strategy. The candidate in this role will learn high quality and high performance backend engineering. Our backend (Hack, GraphQL) uses core Facebook technologies like Facebook's Graph Database and heavy duty dbs like hive and presto. You will work with multiple teams across Facebook to solve challenging product, infra, and integrity problems.

Required Skills:

  1. You will play a key role in building software products and features from the ground up

  2. Your responsibilities will include all aspects of software development: writing and shipping reliable, scalable, and efficient code

  3. You will work on Facebook’s global digital supply chain, performance measurement tools, and content management systems

  4. You will help design APIs for use at Facebook scale

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. 5+ years of experience as software engineer building and shipping products

  2. Experience with languages such as PHP, Javascript, Python, Ruby, or Java

  3. Experience with Web technology stack (HTTP, HTML, JavaScript, CSS, REST)

  4. Experience with data structures, algorithm design, and problem solving

  5. Experience communicating technical concepts to different audiences

  6. BA/BS in Computer Science or equivalent degree/experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Involvement in designing APIs and backend systems

  2. Knowledge of developing complex, consumer-facing products PHP, Hack, Hive, MySQL, GraphQL, or Relay experience

  3. Knowledge of video platforms like BAMTech, Netflix, or Amazon

  4. Knowledge of digital supply chains or CMS
