Facebook Communications Associate, AR/VR Content in Seattle, Washington
We are looking for a Communications Associate to drive awareness and excitement for games and apps on the Oculus platform. This person will work with major game studios as well as independent developers to help them tell their story of groundbreaking innovation and why their game is the next must-play experience. The ideal candidate is someone who is passionate about technology and gaming, has great relationships with games media, is a strong communicator, and excels at working across multiple internal and external teams simultaneously. Experience working with designers, developers, and producers within the gaming or tech industry is crucial.
This individual should have a track record of working on multiple entertainment launches, with the ability to analyze and articulate what makes each title standout. Being able to work quickly in an always changing industry is key. This person should also have an appreciation of the core Oculus community as well as a passion for virtual reality and technology.
This position is full-time and located in either our headquarters in Menlo Park, California or in Seattle, Washington.
Execute communications plans that drive excitement around VR games and apps
Support both Oculus and game developers at industry events
Create messaging and tactics that will resonate with both press and the VR community
Develop strong relationships with gaming press and content creators
Draft blog posts, pitches, and other creative materials that celebrate various game announcements and milestones
Work with developers on securing game previews and reviews
Help organize press events, prepare spokespeople, and create briefing materials
Collaborate with other team members to ensure product launches, events, and other milestones are supported with great games and developers
Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications or a related field
3+ years of experience in gaming PR or related field
Knowledge of gaming or knowledge of VR
Knowledge of gaming and VR
Bulk of experience gained at a PR agency
