Facebook Developer Communications Manager, AR/VR in Seattle, Washington

Summary:

We are looking for an experienced Communications Manager to drive awareness and excitement for developers and building for the Oculus platform. This person will work to educate and excite the developer community about the potential of VR by working with our internal product teams as well as external partners. The ideal candidate is someone who is passionate about technology, has great relationships with games and developer media, is a strong communicator, and excels at working across multiple internal and external teams simultaneously. Experience working with developers, publishing teams, and external gaming and/or tech partners is crucial.

This individual should have a track record of building developer communities, creating developer facing materials, and working with partners on announcements and activations. A strong skillset of anticipating, assessing, and getting ahead of developer issues and policies is invaluable. This person should also have an appreciation of the core Oculus community as well as a passion for virtual reality and technology.

This position is full-time and located in either our headquarters in Menlo Park, California or in Seattle, Washington.

Required Skills:

  1. Lead the creation and execution of communications plans that drive excitement around AR/VR platforms among developers and partners

  2. Work with leaders within the company to communicate

  3. Support AR/VR team at industry events

  4. Create messaging and tactics that will resonate with both press and the broader developer community

  5. Develop strong relationships with gaming and developer partners and press

  6. Create blog posts, pitches, and other creative materials that will excite developers

  7. Organize press events, prepare spokespeople, and create briefing materials

  8. Work with international teams on global campaigns

  9. Collaborate with other team members to ensure product launches, events, and other milestones are supported with great games and developers

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Bachelors degree in English, Communications or a related field

  2. 9+ years of experience in gaming PR or related field

  3. In-house communications experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Communications experience both at an agency and in-house
