Facebook Global Occupational Safety and Health Manager in Seattle, Washington

Summary:

Facebook’s Consumer Hardware division (AR/VR) is hiring a Global Occupational Safety and Health Manager to support our rapidly growing team. The Global Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) Program Manager will lead long-term OSH strategies for Facebook Consumer Hardware Division through the development of OSH programs and standards to meet global requirements, application of technology, engineering controls and controlling occupational hazards. This role will promote work class safety culture, work with new technologies and drive best practice safety standards across the organization.

This role will develop and implement OSH standards and programs for complex varied R&D environments, established methods that ensure alignment with company safety expectations, and provide effective leadership support and guidance to operational safety partners. Additionally, this role will partner closely with all levels of leadership to create, maintain, and improve our safety environment.

Required Skills:

  1. Oversee development and enhancement of key occupational safety programs, including but not limited to machine safeguarding, robotic hazard control, risk assessment, control of hazardous energy, electrical safety, fall protection, powered industrial trucks

  2. Develop, align and implement long-term EHS strategies and annual or short term EHS action plans, projects or initiatives that effectively manages EHS compliance and risk mitigation objectives with business and operational needs, operating plans, capital planning, resource staffing and budgeting

  3. Perform EHS compliance applicability reviews and EHS risk assessments and implement effective programs, procedures, processes and systems to ensure regulatory compliance

  4. Partner with EHS Engineer for design implementation standards and execution across global sites

  5. Hire and manage Industrial Hygiene Program Manager and related activities

  6. Develop and implement document control strategy for corporate and site-specific programs

  7. Oversee development of applicable training programs to support OSH programs

  8. Monitor applicable laws, consensus standard and regulations to ensure compliance across business

  9. Lead continuous improvement efforts to include injury prevention strategies and compliance assurance

  10. Functions in leadership role for agency inspections and responses

  11. Ability to travel 30%, including internationally

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety/Health, Industrial Hygiene, Chemical Engineering or related field

  2. Minimum of 3 years experience leading occupational safety program(s) globally

  3. 7+ years OSH experience

  4. Communication experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Certified Safety Professional
