Facebook Technical Artist - Messenger in Seattle, Washington

We're looking for someone to join our Design Team as a Technical Artist. You will be joining a team that supports Messenger Kids’ growing portfolio of products and features. This team is responsible for creating a new genre of games on Facebook's Spark AR platform. You will be working very closely with artists, engineers, other technical artists to bring concepts to life, to be played by all users on the Messenger Kids’ Platform.

As a Technical Artist, you will be involved in every aspect of the content development process, from conceptualizing new effects to designing incremental features and capabilities in our products. The Technical Artist will assist teams of artists in tackling projects and be equipped to provide support on complicated technical issues.

Required Skills:

  1. Partner with Product Managers, Engineers, Researchers, Content Strategist & QA, overseeing the implementation of the user experience from conception to launch

  2. Providing post-launch design support

  3. Design, manage and maintain the pipeline from the artists through to deployment

  4. Optimize content through enhancing performance and instructing the artists on asset creation, modeling and texturing best practices

  5. Give and solicit real time feedback from other designers to continually raise the quality and craftsmanship of the product

  6. Collaborate with engineers to develop and test new features, prototype, and provide useful feedback during testing phases

  7. Quickly solve issues with your cross-functional leads

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Experience with JavaScript based gameplay programming

  2. Experience implementing assets in real-time engines, such as Unity3D or Unreal

  3. Experience communicating and collaborating with art and engineering groups

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Scripting skills with MEL, Python, C#, and C++

  2. Experience in mobile development and/or browser based games

  3. Experience in developing for VR/AR products
