Facebook Associate HR Investigator (based in Singapore OR Sydney) in Sydney, Singapore

As an associate company investigator at Facebook, you will assist in carrying out investigations into any matter that may be a potential violation of law or company policy. The responsibility of our company investigators is to conduct a prompt, thorough, and fair investigation comprising background research, investigative interviews, and de-brief meetings in partnership with Employment Law, Security, HR Business Partners, Internal Audit, and the business. The associate investigator will assist in all aspects of the investigator’s role.

The key to success in this role will be the ability to work effectively across geographical and cultural boundaries with an ability to discern systemic issues revealed during the investigative process. This requires a high degree of empathy balanced against an ability to assist in difficult investigative interviews. Associate investigators then must be able to articulate issues to the business in the form of written findings and conclusions so that long-term solutions can be developed and applied.

This is a full-time role located in either Singapore or Sydney (Australia), and may involve travel when investigations take place across Facebook’s global offices.

Required Skills:

  1. Partner with Employment Law, Security, HRBPs, Internal Audit, and businesses to assist in conducting a prompt, thorough, and fair investigation

  2. Assist in carrying out investigations end-to-end, including conducting intake meetings and background research, note-taking at investigative interviews, report writing and debrief meetings with leadership

  3. Remain respectful and diplomatic in the face of difficult and uncomfortable situations surrounding an investigation

  4. Help to develop long-term solutions for systemic issues

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor’s degree required

  2. 3+ Years exposure to Employee Relations/Human Resources/Employment Law or other relevant internal (Facebook) experience

  3. Ability to travel at least 20%

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. HR/ER/Employment Law experience (Experience in a relevant cross-functional environment will also be beneficial)

  2. Strong written and verbal communication skills

  3. Relationship management experience in a cross-functional environment across global teams

  4. Able to assist in conducting an investigation that will withstand cross-examination in multiple jurisdictions without being pedantic or prosecutorial

  5. Able to detect prevarications

  6. Able to work independently with sound judgment

  7. Attention to detail and follow-through
