Facebook Japan Retail Sales Lead, AR/VR in Tokyo, Japan

The position will involve developing our AR/VR Japan channel strategy. This person will be charged with developing a comprehensive sales strategy as a subset of the overall organizational vision. The candidate will possess superior analytical and leadership skills and have the ability to effectively influence and communicate cross-functionally with all levels of management. The candidate will thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment, working cross-functionally with the Product Management, Business Development, Marketing, Operations and Finance teams to deliver first class consumer experience to our partners in APAC. As a remote employee, building relationships internally as well as externally is absolutely vital to success in the role. This candidate is versed in the retail landscape, with key senior relationships already established. The candidate will also be required to personally manage distributor and/or retail accounts on a day to day basis.

Required Skills:

  1. Develop and execute the strategic channel plan for the region

  2. Spearhead retail business development efforts throughout the region, with an emphasis on cultivating new and existing clients

  3. Establish and maintain effective sales/distribution channels in assigned geography

  4. Define, communicate, and direct the strategic growth priorities

  5. Build the team to achieve the region’s goals and objectives

  6. Build strong, effective relationships with all functional areas of the company

  7. Foster an environment of continuous improvement, continuous learning, and collaboration

  8. Review and analyze sales performance against plan to determine effectiveness

  9. Provide leadership and day-to-day management for the region

  10. Precise communication to all stakeholders, internal and external, is essential.

  11. Define and manage an annual business plan with all Japanese retail partners for key activities in partnership with channel marketing team to drive to account goals.

  12. Be the internal champion and subject matter expert for Japan retail partners

  13. Develop and maintain executive relationships with key retail, distributor, and vendor partners in market.

  14. Own all inventory planning with forecast management for the Japan territory in partnership with Sales Enablement and Sales ops teams.

  15. Manage quarterly Joint Business Plan process

  16. Support quarterly MDF allocation and reconciliation process

  17. Review Sell in / Out data to identify new opportunities within existing product ranges.

  18. Plan all new product launches in collaboration with marketing and business operations, deliver clear and concise communication and plan to partners

  19. Execute and Manage Commercial Strategies

  20. Work closely with Operations to implement a CPFR process with retail and distributor partners

  21. Achieve quarterly / annual sales targets

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. BA/BS in Business or Marketing related field (In lieu of degree, 7+ years of relevant work experience).

  2. 7+ Years Sales Management experience within Consumer Electronics, Telecommunications or Gaming Sector.

  3. 7+ or more years of experience in Sales, Account Management or Business Development.

  4. 5+ Years remote sales team management experience

  5. Ability to manage intense workload with short time frames.

  6. Strong negotiation and communication skills, experience in retail & distribution agreements is essential.

  7. Capacity to get things done at short notice while collecting information from a variety of internal and external

  8. Highly literate in word processing, spreadsheets, databases, e-mail, social media and Internet.

  9. Able to express ideas with confidence and clarity and have well-practiced presentation skills.

  10. Understanding of the market is essential, industry trends, market conditions, and competitive landscape.

  11. Proven track record of success in delivery of Sales Quotas against Business Plans.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. P&L Management for Hardware or Content Sales is preferred, but not essential
