Facebook is seeking an experienced, highly motivated attorney to join the APAC Legal team as Associate General Counsel, Southeast Asia. In this role, you will lead the Southeast Asia legal team and work closely with colleagues across the global legal team as well as public policy, communications and sales to manage legal and regulatory risk across Southeast Asia. This role requires the ability to work collaboratively while driving decision-making in a constantly evolving legal environment. We are looking for someone with excellent communication skills, good judgment and a proven track record of managing complex legal issues.
This is a full-time position based in Singapore. The position will report to the Deputy Head of APAC Legal based in Singapore.
Work collaboratively across the global legal team, as well as public policy, communications, finance and sales & marketing teams, to advise on legal and regulatory matters in Southeast Asia
Help guide and drive legal decision-making, effectively balancing global objectives with local considerations
Work closely with the public policy team on developing regulations across the region that could affect Facebook
Lead Southeast Asia legal team and be responsible for the team’s development and growth
Advisory and project management responsibility with respect to a broad range of legal subjects including corporate structuring, regulatory, cybersecurity and general commercial advice
12 or more years of relevant legal experience
J.D. or L.L.M. degree and good standing in a bar association
Keen understanding of the various regulatory frameworks across Southeast Asia, experience engaging with regulators is a plus
Demonstrated experience advising clients on a wide variety of subject matter, including internet and cybersecurity laws, user-generated content, corporate and regulatory issues.
Excellent communication, interpersonal and stakeholder management skills, ability to work well with cross-functional teams
Demonstrated experience navigating stakeholders through highly ambiguous situations
Exercise excellent judgment and provide practical solutions
Open to travel as and when required
Compensation based on experience and includes equity compensation
- Prior in-house experience with technology companies preferred
