Facebook News Program Lead, Media Partnerships in Singapore

Facebook is seeking a News Program Lead, Media Partnerships to help build and operationalize new news products, including a new surface for news that will give more visibility to the journalism of news publishers. We’re looking for an experienced journalist to manage curators who help identify the top stories from news organizations. The ideal candidate will have sound news judgment, a background in the US news market, and a passion for breaking news. You should have the proven ability to work quickly under pressure, to make smart news decisions, and to work collaboratively with both news partners and global colleagues. You must also have experience managing a fast-paced team. This position will be based in Singapore.

Required Skills:

  1. Manage a team to produce impactful processes across news products that enable the team to make decisions in a fast-paced environment

  2. Identify and apply best practices within and across teams

  3. Identify new resources and solutions that increase the team's effectiveness

  4. Create solutions that will allow the team's processes to scale

  5. Build strong relationships with internal partners across Operations, Policy, Legal and External Outreach teams

  6. Oversee curation of credible content from a diverse set of publishers covering the most important stories of the day, including breaking news, daily and weekly news events

  7. Develop strategy and create plans for news events

  8. Analyze data to inform news strategy

  9. Collaborate with our product teams to improve user experience and internal tools

  10. Availability to work a regular schedule of either Tuesday-Saturday or Sunday-Thursday

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. 12+ years of similar work experience in news and creating processes at both strategic and operational levels

  2. 4+ years of people management experience with experience recruiting and managing teams, including performance management

  3. Experience developing and communicating product and processes progress and actionable recommendations

  4. Knowledge of the online news ecosystem and the US news industry
