Facebook Lead Counsel, Competition and Regulatory in Washington, District Of Columbia

Summary:

Facebook seeks a highly motivated and experienced team player and leader to serve as Lead Counsel, Competition and Regulatory. Working with a talented and supportive team, this position will manage investigations and inquiries related to antitrust matters and help develop the company’s legal position and strategy on competition matters throughout the world. This is an outstanding opportunity for a talented individual to join a growing legal team and work on cutting edge issues in an exciting, fast-paced environment with a broad and challenging remit.

Required Skills:

  1. Represent the company in connection with competition inquiries by regulators and policymakers across the world

  2. Work with a cross-functional team to develop and implement long-term competition strategy

  3. Help develop and execute our legal strategy in connection with review of mergers and acquisitions by antitrust regulators

  4. Provide teams across the company with counsel and advice on antitrust issues

  5. Retain and manage outside counsel on merger reviews and other antitrust matters

  6. Review and advise on pending and developing competition regulation and developments

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. J.D. degree (or foreign equivalent) and membership in at least one U.S. state bar

  2. 5+ years of legal experience, including at a law firm and/or in-house experience with internet or technology companies working on antitrust matters

  3. Experience representing companies in antitrust inquiries, including conducting investigations and merger reviews

  4. Experience developing approaches to legal challenges and providing legal advice

  5. Experience working with web 2.0, social networking, and other Internet and technology companies

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Experience with global antitrust laws and regulators

  2. Experience with a wide range of policymaking and regulatory bodies

  3. Data protection experience

  4. Flexibility and eagerness to work on broad range of legal matters, including U.S. and European matters

  5. Excellent interpersonal skills with an absolute commitment to professionalism and collegiality
