Our Law Enforcement Response Teams (LERT) receive over 17,000 requests for user data a month and every request we receive navigates through a complex set of systems and processes to ensure legal sufficiency. Our Operations, Partnerships, and Technology (OPTech) team is seeking an aggressive and seasoned project manager that can work at the intersection of tech, legal, info-sec, compliance and law enforcement matters. This person’s primary role will be to understand and broker the technical needs for Facebook’s LERT, Outreach, Incident Response, and legal investigations teams. In addition to making and communicating ruthless prioritization decisions, they will be required to ideate, draft specifications documents, roadmap, and manage the build of technology needs for.

Any offer for this position will be contingent on successfully passing a US government background check, which is required for the position.

Required Skills:

  1. Act as a trusted partner and advisor to Facebook’s law enforcement response, government outreach, and investigations teams to own the consolidation, tracking and communication of project requirements, priority and status to key stakeholders including engineers and leadership.

  2. Identify, define, and drive new or existing team projects and products.

  3. Stay connected with industry and front-line practices to provide direct/specific input aimed at increasing operational efficiency with process, tooling, staffing or vendor integration.

  4. Implement lightweight solutions for tracking and communicating project status.

  5. Build subject matter expertise, stay up to date on technology, and identify key partnerships to help define team roadmap.

  6. Serve as an escalation point for front-line difficulties where the next step to resolution is missing or ambiguous.

  7. Track multiple open ended as well as discrete projects with varying partners in parallel.

  8. Hold project stakeholders accountable for deadlines and results.

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. B.S. in a technical discipline or 6+ years of project management experience

  2. 8+ years of experience in technology focused projects and/or product development

  3. Experience with software and/or hardware infrastructures

  4. Experience breaking down process and identifying pain points in order to deliver operational and technical improvements

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Experience in law enforcement response, government outreach, or security/trust & safety investigations

  2. PMP or Agile certification

  3. Experience leading projects, work streams, and deliverables

  4. Experience with software engineering and/or compliance technology projects

  5. Experience working in a fast-paced, tech focused, web/internet start-up environment

  6. Experience with technical execution, implementing new tools and change management for large company wide programs

  7. Experience in identifying and leading engagements with internal legal stakeholders as well as external cross-functional work stream leads, stakeholders and engineering partners
