Facebook Stakeholder Engagement Associate - Ads in Washington, District Of Columbia
Facebook is looking for a Stakeholder Engagement Associate on Ads to join its Product Policy Stakeholder Engagement Team. The Product Policy Team is the team that creates policies to govern what people can share on Facebook and how advertisers and third-party developers interact with the site.
In this role, you will be responsible for understanding the global landscape of Internet-related advocacy groups, academics, think tanks, and governmental and non-organizations. You will help develop a strategy for engaging with these thought leaders in relation to our product policies with a focus on policies for our products that are commercial in nature - for example ads, commerce, and marketplace. You will monitor our external relationships in key product policy areas and will seek opportunities to build productive alliances with our stakeholders. You will also work with other members of the Product Policy team to improve our policies (Community Standards, Advertising Policies, News Feed) based on external feedback.
You will work with a highly talented and experienced team of subject matter experts on product policies for Facebook and Instagram. You will be responsible for understanding both Facebook and Instagram’s business priorities, and for helping the team integrate external feedback to serve the company and the people who use our services.
The ideal candidate should be an experienced communicator, organizer, and presenter, with a credible track record of building consensus and driving successful outcomes. This person should have some understanding of online content and advertising issues and be comfortable working on technology policy issues. This person should also be passionate about the services we provide and the people that we serve.
This is a full-time position located in Washington, DC, or our headquarters in Menlo Park, California.
Build and maintain strong and trusted relationships with academics, civil society, trade associations, think tanks, regulators and other key policymakers on substantive product policy matters
Work with the broader policy team to provide an external engagement perspective when analyzing policies concerning organic content and ad policy issues
Work with cross-functional teams to develop and articulate the company's positions on key policy issues
Represent Facebook at meetings and conferences
Execute events for stakeholder groups
Bachelor’s Degree in law, journalism, policy, international relations, business, corporate social responsibility, or equivalent field
3+ years of experience working on organizational policy issues
Experience with project management
Experience with establishing processes and metrics to measure policy initiatives
Experience sharing policy positions in external settings
Experience prioritizing projects and interacting with different levels, both internally and externally
Advanced degree in law, journalism, policy, international relations, business, corporate social responsibility, or equivalent field
Experience working at a technology company
Experience with policy issues relating to Internet advertising
